I've always used steam for all my purchases, Not many stores stock many PC games.

Steam almost exclusively. I do occasionally buy off the shelf stuff with gift vouchers, but most games need redeeming through stream, origin or uplay anyway.

I like how steam keeps everything updated automatically, it's nice and tidy, keeping all your games in the same place.

The sales are annoying though, I end up buying games because 'its too cheap not to buy'.

Edit.

BF4 is exclusive to Origin, you can't get it through Steam. If you buy the physical disk version, you'll have to redeem and run through Origin anyway. Just buy it at the cheapest price you can, digital or disk version.

Steam or Tescos, Tesco are often pretty cheap for some big games.

Steam. The only exception to this was Far Cry 3 - EVERYTHING else is through steam (and I usually don't have to wait long for the relevant special offer to come through on a game I want.

The Steam Christmas sale should be starting soon. Unless you need it now, I would be inclined to wait a bit.

Steam and gamersgate. I have only used origin to buy mass effect 3 (as it wasn't on steam) but even then I run origin through steam so I can screencap.

mostly Steam, or thru bundle /offer sites that use Steam keys anyway
Steam sales are like catnip to me,I sometimes wonder if I will play half the stuff I get ,but it "might come in handy!!!"
Rarely do I buy discs,so few places sell PC games now, although Game seem to be doing more after a lowlast year, and that cn be handy as they install quicker.

GOG (or Good Old Games) as mentioned by Aphex, have some good old classics, no discs, DRM free, download as often as you like, most work with Windows 7.

I rarely buy new games directly through Steam, always find it cheaper to buy steam keys from places like simplygames or greenmangaming.
