PS4 Vs Gaming PC

First off, I'm not in the least bit interested in which is better...
My predicament is I cant afford / justify a PS4. I've got tons of games on the PS3 left to play and there's nothing on the 4 I really fancy.
But I do have a burning infantile desire to play games in a higher definition than my eyes can process.
So, I've got a PC - it's an i7 3.40Ghz with 16gig ram and a GeForce GTX560 SE. The card is obviously the weak link here, and so I'd like to upgrade.
The plan would be to have a duel display between the PC monitor and a 50' plasma (that sits 5ft away) This way I'd be able to play games on the TV and, hopefully, placate the need to buy the latest gaming gadget (the PS4)
SO! Can anyone recommend a card? Needs two HDMI outs, and the ability to run any game on max setting at resolutions previously unknown to man. Would it be worth buying a second GTX560 SE and running them side by side? Like the old Voodoo2 cards? It's been that long since I cared enough to research these things!

More modern NVidia cards like the 660Ti, 760 and 770 will draw just slightly more power than your 560 and should offer between two and three times the performance*. A second 560 in SLI will need more PSU output and more connectors, so worth checking what power supply you have.
Price range for the above cards is around £200 to £250; you could look through the selection at www.scan.co.uk and try to find the combination of outputs that you need.

I am looking at either a 780GTX or a AMD 290 both seem to be very simular in bench marks and the AMD is nearly £100 cheaper!
I am thinking the same as you, do I blow £370 on a gfx card or buy a PS4. I have decided to get a gfx card first as I still have loads of games on the ps3 that I haven't touched.

Never really understood the PSA/XBOX/PC debate for playing games.
My son has a decent spec gaming computer and an Xbox, his friend tend to bring over PS4 or extra xbox controllers when they come.
On the plus side the xbox and PS4 do have some linked games which are quite cool.
On the negative side they aren't controllable to the same extent as a PC and thereby hangs the problem.
If you watch them playng online with something like COD, they can't move the mouse sufficiently smoothly to aim. Wtach the characters and the movements are in small jerks, even in single player let alone multiplayer. Combat seems to reply of guns hled as close as posible and strafing by running right and left to get your gun on target. Some of the combat exchanges are quite comical because of this.
This isn't just true for my son or his friends you can see it happening with any of the players on the screen.
Contrast this with him playing BF or COD on a computer where when he comes round the corner to meet an opposing player and one of them is headshot with the first bullet and all over and done with in a nanosecond.
I assume the only reason someone chooses an xbox or PS4 is because either they don't make the game for a PC or because the computer is by far the most expensive option.
Why dont they simply have a mouse as a controller on a console?

I have 2 of those cards but the 780 not the 770. The DirectCU II cooler is very good and I would definitely recommend it, the cards run very cool and quiet. These cards are BIG though (the 780 is massive) so make sure it will fit in your case.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prod...

Also the GTX 770 Lightning is on sale on scan at the moment and that is a very good card too.
