Hi guys/gals

I have been downloading 'ghosts' since last night, yes you read correctly!!! It's taking forever and only halfway through so you can guess my question

I think for better connectivity and online gaming, is connecting via an LAN cable a better option, if so is there a specific cable to buy as there are a few on fleabay which quote differing numbers, ie. RJ 45 Cat5e, cat6e, 350Mhz, etc...

Can anyone advise me on the above please

TIA

rj45 describes the end connector. cat5/5e/6/6a describe the cable standard.

this is the first link i found

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Snagless-Shielded-Networ...

any type/colour will do, but pick the right length (otherwise it won't reach) smile

I should have added, that the cable may make sod all difference if your internet connection is crap/slow/poor/being used by the rest of the family. The slowest point in the chain will govern your overall experience.

Excellent. Thanks for the quick reply,

So you recommend the Cat5 or Cat6 cable then, this is purely for connecting the PS4 to the Internet

Both Cat5e & Cat6 at 5m length is only £3.79

Thanks again

It's just odd, never had download issues before and online gaming with my PS3 although not as good as some of those prestige masters out there is still good.

Think the ghosts download is pretty big and over wifi its just taking too long

Either is fine. It would only make a difference if you wanted 10GbE or you were trying to run hdmi over a pair of them. Neither of those apply here. If you want a warm fuzzy feeling, pick the bigger number

The PS4 has 802.11n wifi - assuming your router can support it, that's almost certainly faster than your internet connection. Even 802.11g probably isn't a bottleneck.
