Hmm, thought I'd share the slight weirdness I experienced when I was setting up my PS4 this morning to see if anyone else has had a similar experience

1) Duff / sub-standard controller? The L1 button has a nice positive soft click feel to it as I'd expect, however the R1 button doesn't feel the same, no soft click and a bit mushy. It works, but feels different.

2) Wifi connection - it found my network (as it should, the router is 10' away), I entered the network password which it accepted and then when it tried to finish the connection declared that "could not connect to network". Only it had connected to the network just fine, but that didn't then stop it asking for a load of advanced network settings such as IP address, DHCP server, DNS, etc etc.

3) PSN login - I'm coming from a PS3, so I have an existing account. I logged in OK to be told I need to specify some additional settings. I went through those no problem and tried to save. Error message crops up saying something like "could not update settings" and threw me out. I went back through the sign in process, and yes you've guessed it, all the settings were saved and I went to the next stage which completed without error

This isn't launch day, so why all the misleading error messages I wonder? I can imagine someone a little less "experienced" in consoles / computers wondering what the hell is going on with their new £400 purchase

Anyhow, it's off now awaiting it's SSHD upgrade (thanks PH, you lot cost me another £75 before I'd even bought the darn thing smile ) before I try and install any games or anything, no point given I have to go through this whole process again

Sadly not practical. It's 10 feet away and would mean trailing a cable across the room, besides I don't have any spare ports on the router either

Just to tie this up, I upgraded the HDD and re-installed the system software (took about 10 mins for those interested, lots of flashing screens but no messages as to progress, slightly concerning but just need to hang in there) and the system sprung back into life.

This time, setting everything up was a breeze and I encountered no error messages. So I still have the slightly suspect controller but otherwise happy.

Killzone looks utterly amazing, super smooth and incredible detail, wow! Shame I'm so crap at it though as I haven't played a FPS on a console in ages smile
