GT6....PORSCHE.....SHOT SELF IN FOOT?
Discussion
Just started playing GT6 after messing with GT5 for a few years and predictably there is still no official Porsche line up due to the various licensing agreements. Didn't Porsche shoot themselves in the foot by granting sole rights to EA. I would have thought getting the Porsche name on to as many platforms as possible would be an ideal way to build brand awareness, especially amongst the younger generation, many of whom will one day have Porsche sized wads of cash to spend? I can't imagine the amount of money EA paid would have made much of an impression on Porsches balance sheet. Or is this the type of thinking that causes me not to be in charge of a multi billion pound sports car company?

Nope, EA have the license, Turn10 have sub-licensed from EA for Forza.
Turn10 managed to get Porsche into FM5, but only months after the game was released and not before one of the generic, dull EA racers had been released that was to feature Porsche cars. You'd be right in saying that Porsche probably want their cars in as many games as they can get them in, it's all brand exposure and would probably work out more lucrative than this EA deal. I'd guess that behind the scenes, Porsche are probably doing everything they can to try and get out of this EA contract, but EA are unlikely to relinquish it as they are the most immoral, money-grabbing and corrupt company in gaming today.PW said:

I'm not to sure they were really too upset about having something to generate significant interest in the game and sales of a fairly expensive DLC pack after the initial buzz surrounding the game's release had died down.Sure it was FM2 I was blah'ing around the Ring in a 956?

Hindsight i suppose, Hope this joke of a deal will end soon, and Porsche can be in some proper games!
The previous Forza games have all featured Porsches, and the new one will no doubt get them as a DLC pack at some point.I suppose Porsche just want to avoid a repeat of
