For those who still have it installed.
Not bad for a 16 year old game. It's going through puberty.

Is this the PS2 game?
No, it's a PC game that is one of the most modded ever, and to an incredibly high standard too. -edit-
The reason it's lasted so long is that it's about the most realistic driving game ever. I'm proud of myself for finishing a clean lap of Monza. The time was awful, but I got all the way around without crashing, sliding, or locking a wheel just once.

Minimal cost from Amazon (less than £5).
But you'll need to apply a few mods, to update the car and to allow for current spec PCs to use their power.
And I wouldn't know where to start, so I would register and post a thread on here - http://srmz.net/
There is an All-in-One single file installer that does it but ask that you have a completely new install so you get the right one.
There are also links to other car sets, tracks and other utilities you might find useful on there.

Aah,I see. is this the same as GT legends? I have that, it's very good.
Where do I get the mod? Or indeed the game?
No, totally different game. GT Legends was by Simbin. GPL was developed by Papyrus, some of that team now work for iRacing.Where do I get the mod? Or indeed the game?
This is GPL..

No, it predates GT legends by about ten years!Where do I get the mod? Or indeed the game?

(you can get the demo there too)
I'll point out that you will not be able to drive it properly without a proper analogue controller (I don't think an xbox controller would cut it), and most people will use a proper steering wheel and pedals (including clutch; you only use that for pulling away though, and it's a dog box, so I hope you know how to heel and toe!)

You could just get Rfactor2? That has Spa as a track with a variety of older formula vehicles and marginally better graphics.
GPL is all about the physics. It is just immense. I believe they didn't model the crashes, the physics were just so that the crashes were 'right' (and there were a lot of crashes). Never mind completing a race, completing a lap was a major achievement. Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
