Missus just out for the night, kids asleep in bed. First chance for over a week to get my arse kicked in BF4...

Nope, hit the PS button on the controller, get a blue flashing light and no reassuring beep from the console.

It's dead. No light bar at the top, nothing. Not even a hint of any signs of life.

What the juddering fk?

Any hints, tips, clues or ideas?

Properly fked off, that's my night ruined.

OK - PS4's dying too ? My fatboy PS3 is OK so far. But heard about a few deaths. Nothing like Xbox360 though. I've killed 3 of those !!
Any Xbone deaths so far ?

Update - it's back, but for no discernable reason.

Didn't touch the console after trying to figure it out prior to posting this thread.

Went to put the controller away, hit the PS button inadvertently, and the lights came on and it sorted itself out.

Really hope this isn't an indicator...

Maybe the controller PS button is going? My R1 button is (over spotting in BF4 I suspect)....

Did you put it on pushing the button on the system itself?

Is it something silly like low battery power in the controller?

Sorry gents, didn't see this.

Definitely not the controller, tried both of mine and they both had middling levels of charge.

Really perplexed - it's been fine over the weekend, so keeping fingers crossed (and looking for the reciept!) that it doesn't happen again.

We had a few disk drive problems at launch, that was about it. MS taken huge precautions to make sure it works, hence the size of the machine! Full of vents and fans.

Haven't checked this myself (away from my machine atm) so might be wrong but check the power settings in the PS4 setup menus. I think your problem may be related to a setting set to Sleep after a defined period of inactivity? Did you turn it off correctly or at all last time you used it? I always chose to turn mine off using the Standby Mode as it allows the machine to update without me.

It may be that your settings need changing or at least checking that they do what you want them to do.
