Woohoo, at last!

Maybe they realised that the competition was about to overtake them, and need to ship it before it is out of date.

Hmmmmm....does that mean existing accounts will be useless on new consoles?

If not, it'll be a bit rubbish having the power of new consoles but limiting the draw distance and speed of things traveling to previous generation consoles so existing accounts can be used again.

As long as you can port over online, I’ll be happy. Not too concerned with single player. I doubt I’ll play through that again.

Slowx, Why would you need to limit the draw distance with accounts on the new consoles?

It's the account data transferred over (progress, garage contents, player stats etc), not the graphic limitations.

I don't understand your comment?

Currently all cars and planes are speed limited due to the hardware limitations of PS3 and Xbox rendering speed and draw distance, also snipers can only see target a couple of blocks away.

Unless PS3/Xbox severs are separated from PS4/xbone then everyone on previous gen consoles will have a severe disadvantage if play against new gen consoles with more powerful hardware.

I'm interested in how are they going to do it, but like I said, if everyone is going to be on the same sever, but with PS4 version limiting draw distance and rendering speed to PS3 levels, then its such a waste on the next Gen console.

Who said anything about the same server?? Rockstar sure as hell didn't. Sony have said you will be able to import your progress from your existing online save game. The sharing of account data doesn't mean sharing servers, afterall your online account exists on the Rockstar servers as a series of stats, not on your console. I guess you will just login in to the Rockstar social club in-game and get the option to import your progress?

Not sure why this was in question?

I would say 100% that PS4 players will not be on the same servers as PS3 (and we know they wont be on xbox servers as Microsoft control access to those with a very big club and an angry face). No cross platform title has done this for exactly the reasons you correctly state, so why start now.

Afterall they have stated quite clearly that the next gen version will "take full advantage of the power of new generation systems to deliver the ultimate open-world experience" and will include:-

"across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolution"

The next gen version of the game also gets "new details to discover" along with new wildlife, weather and damage effects.

Sounds like a pretty big upgrade.

From that trailer alone, i will be happy to buy this game again on the PC.

Bugger, guess that means I'll have to buy a PS4.

From the trailer they seem to have used the extra processing minerals to boost the number of NPCs and make the grass longer - but it does look good!

I hope someone makes a first person mod for this like was done with gta4.

Yeah the animations are a bit dodgy but I definitely think it adds something.

That world as a first person shooter would just be too much to handle biggrin

Calm down, I asked a genuine question because I've seen cross platform gaming with rubbish graphics on the older PS3 - http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/sp/product/import...

I've played FFXIV on across all three platform, and I much prefer the PC version due to graphics making it looks much nicer, PS3 is the worse one on the eyes.

I didn't go digging every little details with how R* will decide how next gen consoles&PC will work, that's why I asked, although FFXIV game play will not have a advantage from better hardware, I don't know if GTA5 will have that problem.

It was just a question, calm down fella.
