Given my predilection for nearly throwing up when I play FPS game on my new-to-me PS3 (see here), can anyone recommend some third-person viewpoint games?

I've already got GTA 4, which I seem to be OK with. So looking for similar viewpoints.
Don't have to be all-action shooters, in fact I prefer puzzle/adventure/exploring type stuff. In GTA I sometimes just spend an hour or two just driving around and looking at the sights smile

I've got Uncharted on my shortlist.

What else?

I highly recommend the Batman Arkham games, it sounds exactly like your description; puzzle/adventure/exploring with a lot of beating up along the way. The first two games are a lot better than the 3rd (Arkham origins), but I'd start with Arkham Asylum which is the first one and it's probably £10 new now!

Uncharted? I would imagine you could pick the first one up for not a lot

The most fun I had with 3rd person games on PS3 has been inFamous and inFamous 2 if I'm honest. More on the all action side, but the choice of good superhero or bad superhero keeps things interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed doing both sides in both games. Should both be under £10 so definitely worth a look.

Hitman: Absolution is great.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is also pretty decent but not as good as Hitman.

And if you want to mix up some first person, Farcry 3 is brilliant too IMO.

Clearly you have played neither Fallout 3 nor Skyrim (which OP is my other answer to your question).

I have. And found them both fairly tedious (heresy I know).

Fallout 3 I personally really enjoyed, Skyrim not so much, how about Metal Gear Solid 4?

Fallout 3 for sure.

Skyrim yes, but it will never be Oblivion. So get Oblivion

As much as I love Deus Ex HR, it is mostly first person with 3rd person pov when you're sneaking about; would still recommend it tho. Red Dead Redemption must be worth a shout? I only got a few hours in before moving overseas (and leaving my gaming habit behind frown ) but it seemed like a really solid game. Tomb Raider must be worth a look as well.

To be fair, I played Deus Ex til the first boss, realised I had picked the wrong strategy and completey gave up hehe

How has only one person suggested the last of us? I also really liked the uncharted games.

Presumably because Skyrim and Fallout 3 have been suggested......
