When I bought my new house at the start of the year one of the stipulations, other than a decent sized workshop, was a third reception room to serve as a den for my guitars and consoles. I've just about finished it now. Excuse the mess of wires. Wireless controllers hadn't been invented in 1986.

Nestled next to the, largely unplayed, PS4 is a Master System, Mega Drive, SNES and N64 with over 150 titles to choose from. They've hardly seen the light of day in 15+ years. All working fine, except for the need for the occasional blow on the cartridge contacts. It's brought back some proper memories. Some games, which seemed awesome at the time, haven't weathered so well, but so many have. The RPGs on the Master System and SNES still hold all their charm. Miracle Warriors and Secret of Mana have drained days out of my life. So many titles I'll put on for a 10 minute blast and find myself still playing them hours later.

The PS4, on the other hand, just doesn't have any titles that have grabbed me yet. Still awaiting confirmation of Fallout 4...

There must be some other retro geeks amongst us. What's your favourite?

OOh...Very nice set up indeed. clap

The SNES and N64 look like a console should - before they went all "lifestyle". Dear god the PS4 is one butt ugly dust magnet though. So is the xbox one to be fair.

Mate of mine has an Atari 2600, which is older than he is. It's kinda fun to play a bit of Pac Man or Space Invaders now an then.

Good to see it's a Master System 1 and Mega Drive 1 too!

I had all the same as yourself but I've since lost the Master System, and I remember binning the SNES when I was younger frown

The prices some of the cartridges command on eBay is beyond ridiculous when you consider how easy it would be to run an old PC with emulators and "free" ROMs for all of this.
