Just wandering through some old demoscene stuff and found myself remind of an old game tune so thought I'd start a thread of reminiscing of old game music that makes you remember sitting on your Dad's old computer or your first Amiga / NES / Whatever and loving it!

TFX Was the one that set me off but how about a couple of others:

Cannon Fodder

Sensible Soccer

[url Top Gun (NES)|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb96aw4qfpo[/url] (Also counts as hardest game ever I think!)

Doom 1

Such great memories!

Defender. you felt it in your chest as you walked up to it. Off the scale

Gauntlet. "Wizard needs food badly!"

Red Alert sound track. just awesome.

Best still has to be Total Annihilation Soundtrack. Epic smile

Never really thought about game music before but watched the RBMA films about the music and the guys who put it together. Found it fascinating:

The music sound on a game was often more important than a game for me, loved the way the musicians were able to get so much sound out of a limited machine. These days where they basically just play a WAV in the background is less interesting for me as there's no limitations on what the sounds can be

This is what started it all off for me, still think it's properly good

The C64 was so amazing back in the day. Maniacs of noise were very talented:

Also Armalyte:

And Turrican!

I could go on all day.

I had this song ground into my head while it loaded in the background, during my dinner/ homework.

Then it was Super Mario and Metroid.

Now more recently its been FF games, and Destiny (both still awesome).

This is one of my favourite videos featuring the Monkey Island theme - the progression of PC sound hardware: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a324ykKV-7Y

I remember wanting a GUS like nothing else back in the day, well - until the AWE32 came out!
