The Mrs asked me the other day to purchase a game for a night in were having with some friends......

So what is the best "party game" can be on the wii, PS3 or Xbox. We want something light hearted and fun for 4 people..... I've been told I can't have sing star because I'm to camp when I sing......

Them watching whilst I play GT6 also wasn't an option!

Cheers

Mike

My choice would either be

Fusion Frenzy 1 and 2 on the Xbox / X360 was fun for parties.. ALOT of button tapping though but good choice of mini games within. can be very addictive and competitive..

or

Flatout 1 or 2 on the Xbox / X360.. Lots of driving based minigames which can be fun + demolition derbys etc...

Other Thoughts would be
Worms.. (Xbox)
Mario Kart (Wii)
Micro Machines.
Super Monkey Ball ( Wii )
Mashed (Xbox)

I'm sure there are others..

'Scene it' is fun for 4 people on the 360 or PS3. Comes with 4 buzzers too.

It's a game of movie trivia and it always seems to come out whenever I have people over and we're drinking.

Scene it - lights camera action is the version with the buzzers, then there's Scene it - box office smash (no buzzers), with more up to date questions. I have both. smile

I'm not sure if there is a modern equivalent but Wii sports was pretty good when it came out. Wii Bowling in particular could be enjoyed by a few people at once without having to take it too seriously.

Rockband is great fun with all the instruments, had some cracking times playing that with a group of friends.

Worms is fun. Also cant beat a Sensible soccer tournament for a bit of retro action and Bomberman with 4 or 5 players

Seconded the Rockband/Guitar Hero. You can pick up a full set of instruments pretty cheap on eBay now days for 360/PS3.

If it were just guys, Fifa always works well so long as your not ultra competitive and have someone who isn't great on your team.

WWE is quite good fun; anyone can pick it up quickly as it's just button mashing.

Mario Kart with a drinking game is the best! Winner has to do a shot laugh

Doesn't it work better if the loser has a drink.... more losses, more drinks, broken person etc...

And fighting game o find works with friends, generally accepted rules are. Drink when you win, 5 wins in a row then you neck a pint and your kicked off. If you perfect the other guy drink neck a pint then your regular victory drink and if ring outs are applicable then both drink for ring out.

I'm assuming drinking will be involved however.

Any game that requires more than a 10 second instruction on how the controls work is a non-starter for me which would rule out almost all games. Hence my suggestion of Wii Bowling, simple stop-go-steer racing games a la Mario Kart also work.

You have to remember that not everyone plays games and knows what L1, R2 etc. even are.
