Anyone know the difference between the PC version of Minecraft sold on Ebay and the official one sold on the Minecraft website?
Or are they the same, other than price?
Need a PC version for my 7-year-old lad and don't know which way to jump. Thanks in advance.

Difficult to know without seeing the Ebay ad. I would just buy it straight from the original site. Basically you are only buying a login and password anyway, not like it is multi-gigabytes of game.

Feed the Beast and ATLauncher on the other hand... add those to Minecraft and wave goodbye to hundreds of hours!

The Ebay ones look dodgy as f**k TBH - buying from Serbia, with restrictions on logging in which look an awful lot like they're selling the same login several times over to different people. Buy it from the official place to be sure.

I bought it for my daughter via the Minecraft website. It's not a huge cost and better safe than sorry

Those ads are just hilarious...

Please note occasionally Minecraft premium accounts do stop working for no apparent reason. This is outside of our control and sometimes happens with Minecraft accounts.

Why is it more expensive on the PC than on the PS3?

My son & I play it and I think I paid about £7 or £8 to download it. Probably paid the same again for additional "skins" because the game just isn't worth playing unless you can play as a zombie apparently....

From what my kids say, the console versions are severely limited. Certainly they are forever downloading mods, maps, skins etc. which you apparently can't do on consoles.

Basic Minecraft is like Duplo bricks. PC Minecraft with mods is like Lego Technic with Mindstorms and Meccano No.10 set, all with the volume wound up to 11.
