Flight Simulator X is now on Steam, and its the Gold edition with the Acceleration pack. And for the next day or so its only 4 quid!!!
IMHO the best flight sim,and now a pittance. Literally thousands of free add ons that should be compatible with FSX installed in Steam, its a great sim and a total life snatcher smileGot to be worth a go for the price of a pint!

Ive just reinstalled my old disc version and have spent days downloading all my old stuff..probably 30 gigs + so far, with more to come!

ETA some screenshots ,just to tempt you

IIRC this is back on steam because a company has bought the whole thing from Microsoft - so they might start developing it again.

Yep,the people who made Train Sim, so they are uber nerds smile

But a billion times better than Woodcutting Simulator or Tow Truck Simulator!

What spec computer are you running. My friend is an uber FSX nerd flying an air liner round the world but his decent spec computer doesn't have graphics that good. I want to upgrade mine as I just want to plod about in my captain sim C130 but it struggles big style so it sits in the corner of a garage right now.

Mine is:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
GeForce GTX 745 3.1GB
13 GB RAM
And a st load of hard drive space smile
Runs 50fps on max settings (although no complex add on scenery added yet) no hassle usually

Damn frown I always wanted this when it first came out but ended up with just the standard edition. Just a shame there's no cash in my bank account till pay day next week and I have no hard drive space either frown

May have to go do some man logic/magic.....

I know, but my bank balance is that of a typical student, there's about 5p in their at the moment, just hope it's still on sale on payday. Then I just need to find some hard drive space.

OK,now that hopefully lots of people got this in the Steam sale, and are happily flying and crashing, how about getting in some serious flight time, and have fun with....(ta-dah!)... the Flight Simulator Round The World Race!

Since 2003 3 teams have been chasing each other round the globe, resulting in some great flying and some darn close racing(<1 hour winning margin 1 year IIRC)
The website is here http://www.fsrtwrace.com/ for more info if anyone fancies a go. The 3 teams are the main Sim sites,Avsim,Flightsim,& Sim Outhouse. I have flown several times for Sim Outhouse as they fly warbirds usually (although how frikkin cool would it be to have a PHer team take part smile)

Anyone else done this?
