Can't get a new Xbox 1 working

Feel so gutted for my little lad. New Xbox1 today and it will not connect to update itself before we can use it. Looking on the net it would suggest some sort of hacking has gone on....or it's simply so busy due to the no. of machines online.

Been trying for hours now and it just comes up with an error.

Either groups are DDOS'ing the network, or just a mass amount of people on with new consoles etc, but XBL and PSN are both very temperamental today.

Pretty much nothing you can do, try again tomorrow.

Same on Playstation network. I would think there are tens of thousands of parents who would queue up to kick the perpetrators in the nuts.

I've just managed to download the update, just had to keep hitting 'try again' about a million times. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow

I got an xbox one today too and I can't get into Forza 5 even in offline mode and GTA V let me in then kicked me out of a mission and back to the very beginning of the game again.

My kids managed to get on line briefly today on xbox live, but it is so stupid, what is the point these stupid little t**ts are trying to achieve bombarding the servers to bring down PSN and XBox Live. I hope they get caught eventually, people have worked hard to get there kids stuff for Christmas and these lizard squad chaps think they are some how cool trying to mess it up.

My very generous brother bought me an Xbox one. Spent all day with family and friends, got home and got it set up. Even managed to download the update. Put GTA5 in. Nothing, Wont read the sodding disc.
