PS4 / Last Of Us - Problems

Hi All,

Bought a PS4 just before Xmas, it came with a downloadable copy of The Last Of Us, I have downloaded it and played it but now when I come to play again I keep getting this screen below and the game won't start no matter how long I leave it, I have to close the allocation go get back to the main screen.

I've checked its fully updated and am now lost? Do I have to delete it and re install?

Might be due to PSN being down, its been largely offline for pretty much 3 days now

Didn't realise it would affect downloadable games, hopefully will get resolved soon as was really getting in to The Last Of Us!

It shouldn't matter, as you do 'own' the game and I'd expect it to work offline. It might be worth unplugging your internet connection and trying again, it might just be hanging when it tries to connect to PSN on the game startup.

Some games do require a connection to the online services, even to play single player. I'm not sure if The Last of Us is one of those, but might be worth checking.

I know it's one of those games which will give you up to date information in the menu's when you load, maybe that's why?

i have a hard copy of the game and it hangs on that screen for a very long time.

Almost certainly due to PSN being down despite being single player. Far Cry 4 does the same (hangs at logging in) despite it offering a specific offline mode
