With Project Cars just over the horizon, I reckon Kazunori Yamauchi will release a video soon as a teaser and to show off GT7.

Think the Gran Turismo series has really lost it's way though and I do hope Pcars is good as it will show Kazunori that sound effects and physics are more important details to worry about.

Will be an interesting few months!

Wanted to do a poll, are most people going to play project cars on PC or console?

Console (ps4) for me, cant afford to build a decent gaming PC as i'd want to do it properly and spec decent parts to run the game at full power.

I doubt it will be any time soon they are still struggling to release content that was advertised as being in the game over a year later. However they are releasing paintable rear wings in March so we can all get excited.......

I'd love to see another great GT game but the way gt6 has been handled leaves me with no confidence for future titles.

GT5 and GT6 were so poor that they've totally put me off the franchise. They've got their work cut out that's for sure but I'll keep an eye on it's progress.

Of course they haven't as they're too busy giving us concept cars and paintable rear wings. I only turn on the game to download new content for the day we get a good game I'm not stuck with a few gig of updates before being able to play. Sadly I doubt that day will come and Feel it's gone from one of the best games on console to not even wanting to purchase GT7 if and when it ever arrives.

GT6 was a vast improvement over GT5 in terms of physics - however I think the AI is still very poor as is the choice of opponents and I hate all the cut scene bling, mandatory rolling starts etc - it just bogs the game down and prevents you getting to the nitty gritty of actually racing.

It was the bodged update process than finally finished GT6 for me. I've gone back to GT5 for hotlaps and hybrids, but it's not the same.

Let's see what PCARS brings.

Gran Turismo lost its way years ago, Forza is the way forward these days.

I always used to defend GT but got an XBOX ONE last year and Forza is so far ahead of GT now.

Gran Turismo has been out in the wilderness for a while. Forza has been able to make massive inroads against it because it's such a technically polished product. The Forza 4/5 handling model is lightyears ahead of the rubbery, arcadey GT experience. GT always had the better selection of cars (I loved the fact that it always showcased special editions and tuner specials in their own right, loads of them). What we need (and I hope for with the next Gran Turismo) is a handling model that is closer to the weight and response of Forza.

That said, I'll have my PS4 soon and I am highly unlikely to buy the next Forza. Forza 5 was just too much of a rush job for the release of the Xbox One. Yes, it's beautiful and it plays very well, but it's was so light on content at release, moreso than any Forza game before it. Sure, there was loads of DLC in the offing, but I don't want to have to pay another £45 or whatever just to get the game it should have been. I'm thinking of going back to Gran Turismo so I hope the next instalment is more like GT2 and less like the rubbish we've had lately!

GT has disappeared up it's own arse, I haven't heard anybody say anything good about Forza in years and Project Cars/my console of choice (whatever) doesn't support the perfectly good wheel and stand that I already have. Not a lot of effort being made with racing games really.

Kazunori San needs to sort his fking act out and focus on current technologies rather than screwing around with a PS3 game.

It's obviously not a profitable enough segment to be bothering with anymore.

I got the impression that Forza 5 was cobbled together by people who don't care about cars or racing.

The cars look ok, sound ok, handle ok, but whereas with GT you get the sense that they're absolute fanatics with histories and specifications of each model, with Forza there's more information on how to buy the DLC cars than there is about the cars themselves.
If GT was really made by car fanatics surely they would have made an attempt to make the cars sound something like their real life counterparts. Detailed histories and specs dont exactly make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.

Forza isnt perfect but more has been done to convey the experience/feel of driving an exotic sports car than GT IMO.

Apart from the sound, GT is spot on as a console racer IMO. The handling is GT6 is very nicely done, when using the a wheel the weight transfer is a massive step up from GT5. I think far too many people play it using soft racing tyres using a pad. Try a Caterham around the Ring with comfort tyres, its awesome!

Up to my PS3 dieing I only really played gt6, the constant free stuff was nice. But not enough improvement over gt5. Forza franchise had a free run to dominate, but fell way short, I hope the charity shop get a few bob for the 360 though. Project cars looks to be very lucky to have them both floundering.

I bought an Xbox one purely for Forza 5 in December after playing F4 for years. Unfortunately compared to 4 it felt like an extended demo. While it was nice to have Spa and Long beach, they cut a lot of the good tracks from previous games (mugello etc).

Everything seemed to be DLC, even cars that were in previous forza games were there as DLC.

Bathurst was nice though.
