Hi all,

Firstly, please use simple language…I'm a technoidiot.

My son's x-box has sudden'y lost its picture. It seems to be turning on, the light is green, bit it's no longer showing up on the tv screen. The hdmi cable is secure. What am I missing? What am I doing wrong?

All the best,

david

360 or One? My old old 360 did this before red ring of death. You could try a replacement cable if you can find one cheap.

Why claim to be a 'technoidiot', and respond with sarcasm to one of the first things you should be checking?

That sort of fix is all that's needed most of the time, when dealing with the technologically inept, and you didn't tell us what troubleshooting you'd already done.

Change the cable
Try the TV displaying another source
Try the xbox on another TV

Basically narrow done what the fault actually is.
The TV the xbox or the cable.

It was the HDMI cable, despite only being a month old.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Apologies if I was brusque. The comment sounded facetious. If not, then again…I apologise.

More forum posts should include the word "brusque".....as well as "badinage"!
