Parents are mad.

They will throw away things that could be sold for many pounds but then moan about a £1 yearly increase in a service.

Sent 2 original playstations with more games than I care to think about, plus various accessories, to the local charity shop. Seeing that picture, I wish I had kept it frown

It was a class game. I bought a copy the Lake District years ago. Loved the boss fight against the guy with the flamethrower and the fight on the moon landing diorama.

I'd be very careful about actually connecting up and playing it. Your memories will be shattered by how bad the handling in GT2 is, how bad the graphics are etc. Stick to your fond memories.

Got mine somewhere. Got a PS2, too. There's a dusty Sega Megadrive somewhere with a 32X.

I got one pretty early, Christmas 95 i think? I remember putting the Wipeout and Toshinden demos in and my jaw hitting the floor.

Bear in mind that my previous console was an Amiga 500.

If you like it so much why is it cluttering up your parents house then ?

I have fond memories of my brother coming around to my parents house (he'd moved out, I was still living there by virtue of being about 10) and saying "Guess what I bought today?"

He then showed me a PlayStation memory card.

I was surprisingly excited, and it was amazing playing Ridge Racer on his home telly.

Of course looking back on it, and I think he feels the same, he must have been mental to drop £349.99 on the console, plus whatever he paid for Ridge, and for the memory card.

Price of technology. People will laugh in 20 years' time when they hear we're dropping £600 on an iPhone. My dad spent £2500 on a 286 with something like 2Mb of HDD. It did have a turbo button, though. And a green VDU.
