I've been watching a few of the beta lets play videos for this and looks pretty good. I haven't played a mmo like this since wow years ago. majority of reviews say that combat is a bit of an issue but the rest of the game seems good. I didn't enjoy destiny to much but I think that's due to the repetitive locations, I don't know how big ESO world is but I'm sure areas will be added in dlc packs in the future.

Anyone else tempted to get this? Release date is Monday 8th I think

I'm a big Elder Scrolls fan but I've read that Online was a bit of a generic mmo so I'm going to wait and see. There's a big stack of games I'd rather play before it tbh.

Had my Xbox One disk delivered yesterday but the servers aren't online yet. Can't wait for Tuesday. Very frustrated at the moment.

I've got my Xbox One disc on order. Looking forward to it arriving, I've enjoyed playing Neverwinter as a console MMO and this looks like a big step up.

However, I doubt it will divert my main focus from The Witcher 3!

I'm not interested in witcher 3 as there's no online feature. I haven't really got in to a mmo since WOW, but I'm after something else I can play on the PS4, if fallout 4 has online id be very interested.

Wow, you'd really skip a game of the quality of W3 just because there is no online content? And yet, every day I see gamers crying out for more quality single player stuff; you'd struggle to find a finer single player game than W3.

ESO is a considerably better MMO than Neverwinter in all measures IMO. I've been playing it on the PC and am switching to XBone so I can play it from my living room and mix things up a little. The trick with ESO is to play it out fully, the quests and story lines, even side-quests are well written and pretty compelling. For me it's one of the best MMO games I've played.

I caveat that I play it essentially solo and haven't tried PVP but hear good things about that side of things as well, although there is some concern about lag still as in the Beta a couple of months ago it looked pretty bad. Hopefully ZOS have fixed that for post launch though.

Not exactly, more like I don't want to spend £45 on a game that doesn't have online, but I would spend maybe £25 on such a game. I'm happy to wait for it to come down in price a little and get it then. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it does look very good.

I totally agree with you callmedave - I don't see the point in spending £45 on a single player only game that once you've completed it in 10-15 hours you never pick up and play again - waste of money, if it has online it will generally have more replay-ability.

Back on topic - I heard of ESO having lots of issues on PC when it first came out, and it getting some bad reviews, so depends what they've done to the console version as hearing it announced I thought "this is finally it - Skyrim mmo" but alas it was disappointing.

lulz at completing the witcher in 10 to 15 hours.

Having never got into online gaming until GTA Online I'd happily spend £40+ on a single player rpg. I average more than 100 hours on the ones that I enjoy.

I did used to like assassins creed, and would happily play this single player but recently they seem to be made up of less story missions and more collectables, it's a poor attempt to increase gameplay time. I like having one or two sets of collectables to find but 4/5 is just too much.

I'm not saying witcher 3 is like that but multiplayer adds many many hours on to a game and yet will never feel repetative. So for me, it's much better VFM

The reason that I've never got into MMOs before is that I found the grinding fetch quests too repetitive. Especially compared to the likes of an Elder Scrolls game where you'll have 40 or 50 hrs of story quests as well as a bunch of random bits and bobs to do. The only thing that's tempting me for ESO is the fact that it's set in that universe.

Anyway didn't mean to come in for an argument, just that 10-15 hour line amused me smile.

Indeed, completing W3 in 10 hours? I don't know if that would even be possible. Ten hours should be enough to see off the prologue chapter though.

I tried playing this a few months ago on PC once they dropped the subscription, but the game play feels a bit simplified/basic compared with Skyrim so didn't really enjoy it much.

It's it possible to play alongside Xbox/PS4 players?

Anyone playing on PS4 seeing the same issues I'm getting the Xbox One, namely invisible NPCs. Really annoying when they trap you somewhere with a door that you can't open while they are attacking you, and you can't kill them.

It would be technically, but M$ don't play nice with other kids, so no; separate servers I'm afraid.

I've played an hour or so now. It's pretty crap, surely it must get better than this? I've escaped the boring 'soul prison' and I'm now wandering around 'Bleak Isle' or similar.

The graphics are dire, the combat is naff, the mapping bar is rubbish. I could go on, so far it's fking rubbish!
