Unreal Tournament

Thanks for posting about this, I'll definitely have a look later. I loved the previous versions and have extremely fond memories of playing Xan in the last level, it took me literally months to beat him on the most dificult level! He did this thing called a 'shock combo' and it was devastating to try and avoid

Might try this out while waiting for Overwatch.Have they brought back any modes from UT2004? Some of those were great. That was the only one I really played, other than 2003 for a short time.
I pre-ordered UT3 at the time, but didn't get on with it for some reason, I don't think I played for more than a few hours and

Just downloaded and started the Pre Alpha.
Oh my god it's splendid. I have extraordinarily fond memories of the past titles and if you enjoyed them but want some modern graphics, you'll love it.
Really, really good fun.
Is it like the original ut,or the inferior subsequent versions where they shrunk everything ?Oh my god it's splendid. I have extraordinarily fond memories of the past titles and if you enjoyed them but want some modern graphics, you'll love it.

Got trashed every time, seemed a bit fast for me compared to the old version.
Not the best of starts for me either! I thought the same about the speed, but maybe I'm just getting old
After a few minutes though, I was starting to get back in to it and managed to string enough kills together to get the killing spree. All in all I like it, I hope it gets released properly as I'd definitely be up for buying it.

Very fast paced, definitely play some quick matches (where half the players are bots) beforehand to get the hang of the weapons. The tutorials are worth a play through as well.
It's almost 100% community driven. Maps, weapons, mods all community generated and the main game is and will be 100% free.
Not FTP, free. They're going to monetise it by letting modders sell additional content after release it seems. Very cool production model.
