Am I doing something wrong?

Recently got a PS4 and last week I bought Just Cause 3 on the PS store to download. The first part of the game downloaded alright ie the small island you can play about on while you're waiting for the rest of the game to download however after a week it's only downloaded/installed about 50% of the full game.

I went through the power saving settings and selected stay connected to the internet when in rest mode however when I enter rest mode it just stops downloading and won't resume until I start it up again.

At this rate i'm going to have to leave it switched on and not doing anything for hours until it fully downloads.

Should it download during rest mode or am I doing something wrong?

Yeah you should be able to.

Under rest mode settings, you should be able to select available options, one of which is stay connected to the internet.

Check you have this selected.

Yeah I have that selected however when it goes into rest mode it just seems to pause downloading.

Also, what is your internet speed like? If you've got a slow download speed it will take forever to download games - not a week though.

It's not all great however I always note exactly how many GB it has downloaded eg 25.345GB then put it in rest mode for a couple of hours then turn it on again and it's still at the same number before continuing to download again.

I also have a nightmare with the downloads, we have 2 PS4s.

I have 80/20 mbit fibre connection:



The PSN downloads take forever, I have tried wireless/wired. I have changed DNS settings as per internet posts. I have tried changing settings on the PS4 as per internet forum posts. Nothing has worked and downloads seem to go between 2 megabytes a second (for a few minutes) then slow down to a hundred k or so a second, if you are lucky!
