Switch brain off (need a PC game)
Discussion
Have got an evening free and want something PC based and reasonably cheap (max £15) in which I can switch my brain off and shoot things or blow them up. Fancy a (brief) break from Rocket League (an amazing game btw.) At a stretch I could be persuaded to trying something strategy based, but fast paced - no Civ-a-like's.
Anything spring to mind?

Some decent suggestions there but not quite what I'm after - although I intend to revisit some of them when I'm more interested in brain engagement.
I've already got Just Cause 2 (great fun), JC3 is a good shout but a bit more than I want to spend. Not really into the whole 'retro' style games, or top down type stuff - I much prefer modern-ish shooters. Wolfenstein The New Order is probably the last example of the sort of thing I bought.
I should probably have a look through 100+ games in my library, at least 50% of which were bought in sales or bundles and never played too.

I was just going to suggest that actually - seemed to fit the bill of your request. Nice visuals, big guns, lovely set-pieces. Of course, never have I played a game so "on-rails" in terms of guiding me through the maps and objectives, but really enjoyed it. Theres a follow up - the Old Blood, which is more of the same.FPS Games - Bulletsrorm,Singularity. Metro Games are Excellent, but not exactly brain off. I can heartily recommend Postal 2 for stress relief purposes, it's not for the easily offended/outraged.
Check out the current Humble bundle some decent stuff there for not a lot of cash. I like Grow Home, but it's more of a relaxing puzzler than brain out game.
Tomb raider is currently on sale on Steam. It is excellent.
