Hi Fellas.

Does anybody fancy organising a game of BF3 for old times sake say Good Friday???

It'd be great to get the PH clan together and swarm some unsuspecting server with decidedly average gaming and above par swearing!!!

I know this is a PC thread but same game... I am bored of BF4 but play regularly, I yearn for the BF3 maps. In fact, the scale of the new maps doesnt seem vastly different to some of the last (epic) BF3 maps (xbox). The number of players is best when limited to 40ish max otherwise its spawn, run, gun, die, repsawn

I also miss the swearing from the soldiers, why tone down a game about killing just so the kids dont get offended?

I could well be up for this! Again, will have to re-download as I'm on a new system now- I assume this isn't an absolute nightmare via Origin?

I'd be up for this and getting it for my PC but only if you guys play with controllers, no mouse and keyboard single shot kills wink

hehe

I have no idea how anyone plays a shooter using a controller, to me it's akin to writing using your feet. Sure it's probably possible to get to a point where you can make legible scrawls, but why would you bother when you can write so much faster and more clearly by holding the pen in your hands? wink

Ahh I used to feel like that. I remember buying a 360 and not playing it for years because the joypad was like trying to convince the other half that we need yet another v8 (actually I won that argument). But the point was the sticks were for idiots, I was a master of the wsad z/x space mouse aim. I could dominate Unreal just like the way those annoying little American kids were "raping me" on the console (little fkers). Then my gaming rig which was all of 3 months old was made obsolete by DX10 and my previously top of the range doo dars were now as obsolete as my now married sex life.

Eventually I found BF3, picked up the xbox360 and the sticks all of a sudden made sense. Years of not hammering the mouse and keyboard had somehow made the joypad workable. Sure its not that quick to get a head shot and yes I may now turn to an attacker with the accuracy of the Exon Valdex navigating a protected coast line, and yes this has resulted in one or two holes in the wall the same shape of a controller, but trying keyboard and mouse now feels antiquated. Something old farts who cannot move with the times seem to stick with.

What's the point in entering an F1 race in your kid's hot wheels buggy and asking everyone else to drive really slowly? May as well stick to racing the other kids around the flower pots in the back garden! biggrinwink

My very own personal idea of hell would involve being forced to play endless rounds of Unreal Tournament 'Instagib' using a dual shock controller. Of course being a wireless controller I couldn't even use the cable to end it all and escape the torment!

In all seriousness I have the utmost respect for anyone who can play a shooter to any kind of standard using a controller- I really do. I've persevered with the likes of Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Timesplitters, Halo, Killzone, and many other console-only greats over the years- playing hours & hours on them. And I still have the controller reactions & dexterity of a horse swimming through blancmange.

I guess on teh console its an even playing field as everyone is forced to fondle Zina Warrior Princesses knockers whilst wearing degausing gloves. However, some crafty swines now have a way to mouse/keyboard on the consoles.

I like the idea of racing around the flower pots!
