GT4 = ridiculous sound effects!

Just tried GT4 in arcade mode (my other cards are full of data) and what irritating sound effects this game has. Had to switch off after 10mins.

Why do your tyres squeal whenever you turn the steering wheel slightly or brake? Haven't Sony heard about ABS brakes LOL?

Is there anyway to switch off these silly sounds?

The other drivers are as dumb as ever as well! What a disappointment.

Tyres still squeel with an ABS system you know. Even on the brakes.

Also think about the balance they need to strike. With a sim you don't get the feel through the seat of the pants so they need to provide feedback in other ways, and there's basically 3 choices, force feedback steering wheel, graphics and sound.
OK so the tyre squeal might be a bit over the top but I think i'd rather have it than not because it gives me more information about what the car is doing.

I agree, it does get rather annoying and certainly seems OTT.

In arcade mode you can change the AI of the other cars.

Also the tyre screeching noise tells you when you are cornering wrong! Well it helps anyway. Get the line right, brake straight, power on after the apex and a nice drift out with no (or little) squealing and perfect cornering.

If you watch a replay. The tire noises sound alot more realistic. But in game, i think it is a bit much.
