Anyone else thinks that getting the licence is a pain in the ass ? I did the B one last night, it takes ages.

Can't imagine what the IA and Extreme ones will be like....

I find that to get gold you don't actually drive as you should if it was a race. I normally stick with silver unless I'm reaaally close to gold when I get silver

Anyone find the IB trial with the overtaking of threr Avantimes incredibly fustrating?

I nearly got dumped by the girlfriend because I snapped at her when she *shock horror* tried to talk to me while trying to beat the third Renault by the last corner.

When I did it finally, I had that long forgotton rush of adrenaline, and relief, all at the same time!

Bronze is just fine. That way the licences take no time and you can just get on with the game...

Yup I agree. After all you get nothing extra by getting silvers or golds.

The only exception is Gold on everything where I think you get another car (You did in previous GT's)

Can't be bothered with that!!

My experience of the previous generation GT's was that to pass the licenses you needed to drive 'properly' as opposed to the arcade mode of driving which, I for one, have over the years adopted. By this I mean that it's not how you'd drive on track.

Because this new version is claimed to have such realism, I have decided to play it all 'properly' so to speak, and really try to drive 'properly'.

Incidentally, I am using a normal PS2 vibration type controller with the wiggly stick (as opposed to the buttons). I am finding it much more difficult than Gt3 like this because the steering response is so much more, I find it over-reacts!!

You do get cars for Bronze and Silver too. (If you do the iB to bronze standard you get a super wierd Nike designed buggy thing (Think Caterham for the year 2022). Very strange indeed

Ps. Of course you can transfer the first 2 licences (domestic A & B) from your GT4 Prologue save game if you wish....

PPS. If you want the Jay Leno Tank car you need to complete driving missions 11 to 20 .

Is that the driving mission 10 on the Sarthe?

If it is, it is bloody annoying. I don't want to drive a stupid French pile of poo.

I'd rather give the game a full going over rather than try to skip to end via the shortest route possible. Its not the sort of game to me that needs to be beaten, but mastered.

each to there own

(you know you will go back in the end anyway!)

I'm going for gold...

...but settling for silver...

...and all to often, shameful bronze...
