As a long time player of FM, I'll get myself on this thread early.
Cannot wait for it to be honest, even though it's generally the same each year!
Have you seen the video released the other day announcing the features?

They've stated 4th November for release, and the BETA should be around 2 weeks before. So it should be available this Friday.

Yeah - seen the video. Been buying it since time began and I was very glad that for once they rewarded their loyal fans with a discount ! Been too long coming. it is generally the same each year....but i think this one may be better than before with what Ive seen so far. I thought we might get it before 2 weeks cos I'm sure I seen somewhere BETA access would be at least 2 weeks before general sale.
Hey ho - thought I'd ask. Do you play on line games of FM? I've never done it...but thinking about it.
Cannot. wait. As. Per. Usual.

Thats the end of my FM16 career then.
Love FM. Have been playing FM & CM since 92
Thats roughly the same as me - every year when a new one is about to come out I'm like a kid at xmas...despite it being similar to the last. It's like a pre-season wait when you are waiting on a new one coming out !!Love FM. Have been playing FM & CM since 92
Apparently they are putting the UK's decision to leave the EU in the game when you reach the year 2019. So possibly the need for work permits on players from Europe that are currently not in the UK.
I have also played since mid 90's back in the Championship manager days but last years was really hard I just couldn't get my tactics right. Hope this one is a bit more forgiving like the others that made it enjoyable even if you ain't as tactical minded as Jose.

I've read this also. Apparently they've modeled EVERY possible outcome, on a percentage based random generator. One of the outcomes is 4 maximum 'foreigners' in a matchday squad. That would make for a fascinating save, as Premier League teams snap up good Championship and League 1 based players to meet their British quota's. Should make for a strong England team heading into 2022 and 2026.

I hope so too
I'm staying with '16 for a little while I think, only just got Blackburn into the Champions League

After being a scout for the game for a few years FM15 was the first one I had to buy for a while. I didn't buy FM16, as it didn't seem that big a step forward. I got FM17 yesterday and to be honest, it does not feel that much of a leap forward either. They still can't get inverted wingbacks to perform how they should, depsite having the role in game for three versions.
The only positive seems to be that most of the layout is the same.
I should have stuck with FM15 and a transfer update. However now I've got it, I doubt I'll go back.

I have downloaded it but not played, still finishing off '16, need to win the PL with Blackburn & the Euro's with France to complete the International white wash (currently won 46/46).
The one part I hope they have improved is the contract negotiations/demands from the players, on my Blackburn game a player comes to me for a pay increase (which going by comparable players they deserve), I tell them "don't be silly, you have plenty of time left" and they all just accept it, I'm in 2023, just won the CL and Rashford has just picked up all the top awards and I still have my £100k a week cap in place

Not had too much time to play on it thus far, however early thoughts are it appears to be a polished FM16, which is no bad thing.
Social Feed is extremely repetitive, I have now changed my automatic news feed within preferences to display news only.
Animations within the ME seem more realistic, however the sprinting animation is comical when a player dribbles with the ball.
Data Analyst seems poorly implemented, but a vital source of info. It appears that there are no key attributes for a data analyst, so literally anyone will do. Therefore I assume they all display the same level of info? Anyway, that info does some critical to winning matches consistently.
Whilst the game speed has improved between matchdays, matchday itself is a longer experience for me. It seems critical to implement the Data Analysts suggestions to be successful, and therefore a lot more tweaking of your tactic is required, there is no 'one tactic fits all', which is probably a lot more realistic. I am still trying to find a balance between defining my teams style of play and remaining flexible to suit the opposition. I now watch all matches on 'extended' highlights, which again is probably more realistic than how I was playing before. It'll take me much longer to win the Champions League with Nottingham Forest again though on FM17 as opposed to FM16!

Agree with all of that ! It is taking me much longer.Social Feed is extremely repetitive, I have now changed my automatic news feed within preferences to display news only.
