Hi all,

My daughter is turning 6 shortly, and I'm after a few PS4 games to get her. Sadly i left my hardcore gaming ways behind me for the most part, and I've no real idea on whats available these days. I recently bought a PS4 with some games to use. Looking for maybe a Spyro or Crash bandicoot type thing? Something we fun can both play together through winter when we'd rather not go outside.

She's pretty smart, and has good coordination, and she can just about work her way through complex first or third person shooters. She's often complined about the difficulty level though, and although I'm not that strict with what i let her see/hear, I'm concerned that the games we're currently playing (The last of us, Doom & Farcry 4) might land me in a spot of bother, should her mum find out!

All thoughts, opinions or suggestions welcome.

Cheers smile

The Lego games are great for that age. Lego Starwars is our favourite at home.

most of the lego games will be good too, have a look at spyro the dragon, little big planet, ratchet and clank, rayman.

Most of these might be a bit hard for a 6 year old

Buying her a DS or such might be a nice option, lots of great kids games on them.

The Lego games are pretty good. There's also a Ratchet and Clank game

Then there's Skylanders / Infinity / Lego Dimensions etc. that I don't really understand but that kids seem to be into and would seem to be a huge drain on parents wallets wink

Considered a Wii U? Though the Wii Go thing is arriving soon....

Your six year old daughter is playing Doom?

In answer to your question, why not just get a second hand SNES or similar, much more fun than modern games and more split-screen games on offer to choose from.

The lego games.....and stop exposing her to inappropriate gaming content.........they have "age restrictions" for a reason.

Disney Infinity is pretty good, and something you can play together. The Lego stuff as mentioned also good. Mine love FIFA and Forza Motorsport too.

Otherwise, 6yr old playing shoot'em ups? Is that a joke that I need a parrot for?!

Rayman definitely - my kids love it (boy is 5, daughter is now 9 but must've been 6 or 7 when we got it) - I really enjoy it too

Another vote for the Lego ones. In 2 player modes they encourage co-operation as one character can generally do things the other can't, so they need to work together to progress.

My eldest is 11, and he's not having any shoot em up games yet... Despite what his mates at school can play.

Cheers all for the replies.

She has a DS, but said she wanted something we could both play on the main TV. We have played a bit of shooter games, but I've stopped as they are pretty violent. I've been playing doom & quake since I was 4, but it's got awfully realistic now!

Settled on Knack, Minecraft & Lego avengers for now. Cheers for all suggestions smile

I came home from work the other day to find my four year old son playing Broforce, if you know what that is.

Wife can't see the problem with it. Granted it's more a bloody pixelated mess than lifelike realism but even so.

Rachet and Clank would get my vote and it's on offer for £15 on PSN at the moment.

Do they do anything like Buzz Quiz with controllers as they did back in the PS3 days? if so get that with a quiz pack suitable for a 6 year olds knowledge base.

And let her win once in a while too!

My 6 year old (nearly 7 now)boy likes Ratchet and Clank, Knack, Lego games, Fifa, Star Wars Battlefront.
I have restricted his account so no text or voice chat allowed, that does mean he only really plays single player or split screen.

Edited to add, the 5 yo girl child likes Fifa and Just Dance.
