So I bought the lad an ipad 2 off ebay and I thought I'd try it out before xmas. It's useless. I'm guessing it's not powerful enough to play it.

Before I go wasting money on an ipad 3 or something similar, has anyone used it on one?

I know there's another pokemon go thread but that's mainly for playing it. I can't get that far!

Sorry but why would you want a tablet / iPad to play Pokemon go?

The game is abnout being out and about, walking and interacting at various opportunities on a handheld device, a phone is plenty to play it on.

If I had to lug a ta blet about to play it, it would be a lot less convenient.

Me and my boy(s) play on my galaxy S4, no mproblem at all.

Is Pokemon Go still a thing? I thought it was a silly fad that passed by in about two weeks during the summer. Until this thread, I've not seen or heard it mentioned since back in August.

Of course, because you absolutely told everyone he was 6 and wouldn't be allowed to use your phone to play.

As said by others, it works best on phones - especially since you need a network connection while walking around outside.

I didn't take my phone on holiday earlier in the year, but I did take my iPad. My son was catching all sorts on his phone, so I decided to have a crack with my iPad. Apart from looking a bit daft wandering round with it, it would only work for a minute or so on the hotel wi-fi before crashing and blaming a lack of GPS.
