Forza 6 Spec Championship
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Now we've had a break after Idle's great GT championship, I thought now would be a good time to get the ball rolling on the next championship.
Timing:
Jan '17
Weekly
Day TBC, Tuesday seems to be the tradition so can carry on with that. Suggestions welcome.
Car:
As this is a spec championship we'll only be running one car. I couldn't decide for a very long time what we would be running, spending lots of time trying different cars to come up with something I hope will be fun a and competitive. After lots of deliberation, I've settled on a car bound to cause controversy throughout Club PH. We are going with... The hairdresser's dream, the holy grail itself:
The '94 Mazda MX5.
Obviously the car is not going to be standard. With 285bhp, big slicks and no downforce I'm hoping there will be some close running in a car that's rewarding to drive at the limit. There is a tune on my storefront, it's called "Champ1"
I've put a frankly silly amount of time into tuning the car to get to a point where the car is quick and predictable yet fun. I've had a lot of testing sessions with some great drivers and also Raddy - some good feedback has been taken on board and while you're free to run your own tunes I strongly suggest starting with mine. I will release all details about upgrades when prompted.
Format:
Race nights will hopefully be a similar length o the previous GT champ. They'll consist of a short practice/qualifying session where rid positions will be decided for the first race. There will be 3 races a night, the first two being sprint races of about 12/15 mins followed by a longer race of around 30 mins and one pitstop.
Scoring has yet to be decided, I haven't worked that out yet.
Get signed up, let's get really into this so I can lose interest halfway through and never finish what I started.
Comments/feedback welcome but as always with my championships, if I don't like you, what you're saying or I'm in a bad mood - bans and points deductions will be given out

Strange you can't find the tune...?
Make sure you're in the correct car as you search, try searching for my gamertag "Echo Cobra" and you should find it.
I'm thinking we start this up maybe the second Tuesday next year but if anyone is on tonig and feels like having a run in the cars I might be on.

It's a '94 MX5, mid A Class, 280hp called 'Timmeh2'.

Found that one too - wouldn't describe it as 'rewarding to drive' thoughIt's a '94 MX5, mid A Class, 280hp called 'Timmeh2'.

Once the proper tune appears, assuming brake balance is tuned for non ABS can you stick a 2nd tune up for those that rely on ABS to not spear off into the gravel everywhere please??

Out of interest, Echo, what's the brake force set to? I was locking the wheels quite a bit (no ABS), even more than usual

I am concerned that there is no longer enough pistonheads to make up a decent championship!! very happy to be proved wrong.
i for one am looking forward to some more players and maybe a track list?? Now that the festive season is behind us i should be able to devote more time to this.
