Top 3 games of all time over the last 30+ years
Discussion
Since its the start of a new year and I reckon that I have been gaming since the 70's, I thought I would ask peoples opinions on their top 3 games of all time.
I started with something like this.

Compared to what I can play now its so primitive, but my parents bought my brother and I a Grandstand console as we obviously enjoyed playing it at a friends house. It even had a light gun to shoot at the square blob moving around the screen.
In no particular order, but roughly judging it by the hours I have spent playing.
1. Doom/Doom2 Looks like s
te today but we used to spend hours playing it. Dodging fireballs, using a crossover cable to connect with a friends PC to play against each other, awesome.
2. Left 4 Dead 2. A fantastic COOP game when played with good people. I had my own custom server and apparently I have spent nearly 2000 hours playing it. More women have added me on Steam playing it than any other game bizarrely.
3. ARMA2 Dayz/Overpoch. Best game ever. Another 2000+ hours game. I have even bumped into a few PHer's and been a bit of an enforcer for them with my group.
Apparently I have spent a lot of time playing a lot of other games which probably should get a mention, again in no order.
CSS. Another custom server game.
Various Total war games.
X3 games and many more.
Yours?

Tetris on the Gameboy was amazing.
Star wars X wing and other games connected to X wing. amazing or Gran Torismo 1
And Destiny. Yes current but I have never had so much fun, spent so much time on a game. i think the best I've ever had before Destiny was about 80 hours and passed that and another 600 hours. Plus the online with mates was a huge crack

A group of modders is remastering Star Wars’ classic space combat sim X-Wing in the Unity Engine, and it looks and sounds great.
1. DOOM. Introduction to proper gaming and multi player. Fully immersive, I used to dream I was playing it.
2. Microsoft Flight Sim. I started with FS3 back in whenever and have had a version installed on just about every computer I have owned, even boot camping Macs purely for that game. I have logged way more hours than in real life and probably learned a lot more about flying too.
3. Wargame series. European Escalation/Air land battle. Basically this is the game I wished for in the mid 1990's (also see DCS!). A RTS with real-world Cold War units. A recent game, but as I don't really consider myself a 'gamer' I still spend a good few hours a week with this one.
It was hard not to include any of the GT franchise but every iteration has left me a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong I played them ad nauseam but always felt they could have done better with the selection of cars, especially the early games.
There is also a Backgammon app on iPhone that I have literally played thousands of games on. It might only be a couple of minutes everyday, but for the last 6(?) years that has to add up.
