Xbone Wireless Headset
Discussion
So having finished my PVC racing rig (readers ride to follow) I now realise that I need a wireless headset, the wheel has no connector for a headset and the system of setting up the controller one is a little clunky, plus pushing all the noise through the headphones would be handy as it will mean I can race with a decent volume and not disturb the wife.
Having had a look it seems there are a set of Turtle Beach' that fit the bill just wanted to gather opinion before ordering!

Turtle Beach stuff is usually great. I've got the top-doofah wired set for my Xbox One. I made sure to get the wired ones as I play so much that I couldn't be doing with a flat battery (plus the rechargeable batteries always give out eventually). I've put thousands of hours on this set and they look and work as good as the day I bought them.
I had another, cheaper set on my 360 that saw a similar amount of use and lasted well.

Another vote for the Turtle Beach stuff. Back when I had reactions and played the twitchy shooters to a decent standard, the TB headphones felt almost like cheating (my gamertag was even 'Burtle Teach' for a while when I really should have got out more). Have another half decent set now (also wired as above) which I might pop on ebay as haven't played a game for a year +

Turtle Beach are very good for the price, despite the shaky reliablity reputation I had the basic wired Xbox One set - like Löyly I couldn't use a wireless set as I spend too long playing. Great sound quality and comfort.
After about 3 years and thousands upon thousands of hours of use, one of the speakers has started to crackle under deep bass sounds - not bad going at all. I've replaced them with a set of Astra A40s, which are about as top end as wired headsets get for gaming. Whether they're worth the extra dosh, we'll see.
The only thing I absolutely insist on is the fabric mesh ear cups, the leatherette ones on Turtle Beach and Astro are awful. I know they have greater noise cancelling properties but unless you're in a gaming competition in a packed out hall, you don't need that for your living room. Just give me comfort and not having to have sweaty ears.

Turtle Beach (wired to controller) for Xbox One is great, got it for Christmas. On full volume on Forza Horizon 3 occasionally it will crackle- however doesn't do it on any other game or watching videos so I don't think it has an issue. It does drain the controller batteries though, however I just purchased the official recharging kit so not an issue anymore.
