So, after not turning on my xbone or PS4 for 6 or 7 months, i have an urge sit down and shut myself off from the world this weekend and play again.
But i need a new game.
The real urge is to play Zelda, a open world game thats not serious, more fun, but still intelligently made.
What are the options on the PS4 or xbone for a Zelda like game, im 45 and well out of touch on game releases these days!

Final Fantasy XV, or albeit a bit darker but similar style of exploration - Fallout4.

There hasn't been one like Zelda for PS4 as far as I know. Closest might be Dragon Quest builder, it's got the exploration and combat but with a bit of minecraft style world building as well.

Stardew Valley has just came out for PS4 as well. It's sort of like Harvest Moon but it's got some exploration & combat in it.

Might be worth keeping an eye out for the Kingdom Hearts set that's due out before Kingdom Hearts 3. The 2 PS2 games were quite Zelda ish as well.

Don't know if you've played any of the Uncharted games (I hadn't), but I got Uncharted 4 with a PS4 for Christmas and it's fantastic. Really good fun game albeit not particularly open world.

Or Skyrim Special Edition if you haven't played that before.

hehe 300 hours game play later.. decide to start again and do stealth archer rather than melee beast.

Life gone. Weekend turned into a year ;-)

I was about to mention 3d dot game heroes but then realised you mentioned you have a PS4.

With that in mind I'd recommend either Bastion or Titan Souls, both available on the PS4.

Buy a second hand GameCube, wii with a GC controller or a GBA/DS. Be prepared to pay a new game price for the second hand games. My preference goes: OOT, WW, TP, SS of you ignore the hand held games. I've never played MAjoras Mask.

Apparently the PS2/3 and wii game Okami is similar to the zeld series.

I'm 36 and still a big kid for the Zelda games. My little boy has a Wii U (which is great for kids I may add and can't see why it crashed and burned so badly!) so I recently bought him The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess, which we are playing through together. He loves it.

Its his birthday in March so he (I) will be getting the new Nintendo Switch and the latest Zelda game to boot!
