Afternoon, I have toyed with a wheel set up for years now and have a decent amount of amazon credit waiting to spend.

I am a competent racer in games and have played in several race series with a controller against some wheel players. I can mix it up but I am clearly at a huge disadvantage.

My requirements are..

- 3 pedal set up
- proper manual shifter
- Good force feedback
- good wheel grip

I would also need something to mount them to so would like a dedicated compatible stand/seat set up.

It has to be PS3/PS4 compatible and I would be playing

GT6
Dirt rally
Project cars
Assetto corsa
Dirt 4
GT sport

What is the best set up I can get for sub £400 (on Amazon)

Cheers

Playseat challenge £130 on boysstuff.co.uk and a Logitech G29 with shifter £180 currys pc world, Amazon not the cheapest. If you can up your budget for a better seat I recommend this though https://www.gtomegaracing.com/gt-omega-racing-driv...

With the rig and wheel that comes in at £440.

Or stick with the cheap seat and get the thrustmaster t300rs, but a shifter will be an extra cost.

Thank you for the advice, at the moment I am swaying towards the first option with the G29 and playseat challenge.

Any other suggestions guys?

For the bottom end of the market you can only go with logitec or Thrustmaster.

That is no bad thing, both make really good stuff, my G25 is still going strong despite 6 or so years in service, i have a Thrustmaster joystick that will still be here after the sun expands engulfing earth and life as we know it, they make their stuff well.

I would say the omega looks a good bet, i would have bought one when i was looking but they were out of stock and the one i went for was more expensive but looks like it would do the same job.

I would think a large Currys/PC world would have some in stock to get a feel for prior to purchase and you might want to wait for a deal to pop up, there have been a few good deals on Logitec not so long ago.

Check on eBay as well, must be lots of people where they got one for Christmas, used it once and the Tax bill has come in and they could use the cash!

Consider :

Thrustmaster R300 RS GT edition with the 3 pedal set. Flappy paddles included, not gear. £285. Shifter is about £115 extra, so start with paddles and move to shifter if you want it later.

Wheelstandpro (not from Amazon) £99....you can then drive in whatever seat you currently game in.

I have the G29 / Playseat Challenge combo suggested above and can't fault it. The Gearshift isn't great, kinda toy-like in feel, but still fun to play with. Successful Manual H-pattern shifting and Dirt Rally automatically makes you a hero, it's really really hard!

I made a custom shifter mount for mine as the standard Playseat offering positions the shifter immediately next to the wheel (okay if you like the EP civic I guess!) I'll get a picture of my setup when I get back home.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have now got the G29/shifter & playseat set up. More than happy with the purchase and getting faster again by the minute, still finding it hard to catch a spin in project cars though!
