I know the Switch is the main feather in Nintendo's cap today but I bought a brand new on for £134 with some Tesco vouchers yesterday. I want it for Wii games and some of the more modern Mario stuff as well as the virtual console. With the crazy prices of discontinued Nintendo prices it should hopefully hold some value too but I plan to use it as a gateway drug for my 3 year old to get her into games. Wii Sports and Mario 3D are on the way so I'm very much looking forward to it since the last Nintendo console I bought was a SNES on the day of release.

I find myself looking at a U as well since I want to play Zelda but don't need any of the new portability features of the Switch at all though it seems like a good idea, it just feels like a waste to spend £270 on it for just one game (so far). Had no interest in the U hardware when it launched and to be fair, still don't now...

I've just discovered that with some minor nerding the Wii U can be hacked to play GameCube games too which makes it yet more appealing over the Switch.
