Just released today on Steam.

Now I'm not the world's biggest ST fan but I quite fancy this especially as it's VR compatible and I'm a big Rift fanboy. wink
It's a bit toppy at £40, so I think I'll wait a wee while until more reviews come in and maybe even a Steam sale.

It was featured on Click, where they played Co-op and it seemed to go well, however Co-op with strangers I can see being a complete disaster as someone is sure to go rogue and not follow orders at the crucial point, when they should be raising the shields. nerd

That's basically what all the reviews are saying- it's great when it works well, but with random players it just doesn't work. Unless you have a group of four of you who are prepared to put the time and effort in, it isn't really worth it. It looks a bit unpolished to be fair. Shame it's VR and online only, it would of done well if it was just a normal game.

I have no VR so am a touch gutted I cant play, however I did enjoy this review:

Tactical: "Captain, a friendly vessel is requesting assistance."

Captain: "Shields down, ramming speed."

Helm: "Captain? I don't think that's....."

Captain: "Alert medical to receive everyone."

hehehehe

Should have ships with different numbers of bridge crews, wouldn't be hard to scale the game, for a defiant size ship (or slightly smaller) with a single man bridge crew (a commander). Does kinda defeat the remit of the game, but adds something to it too ie single player with VR.

It just needs to be scalable from 1 to 8 man bridge crews, 1-2 unique ships per bridge crew size.

looks fun.

Wonder if it can be played using a samsung gear.

I dont fancy taking out a 2nd mortgage just to buy up a load of HTC vives!
