Car Mechanic Simulator 2018

The new CMS 18 is due for release today.

I have to say I quite liked the 2015 iteration and will definitely be getting the new one as soon as it is released.

It looks really good graphically and seems to be even more detailed from a mechanical perspective.

Goodies like the scrapyard and barnfinds are also really interesting and I am looking forward to how they were implemented.

So who is also getting in on the action?

Cant believe this is the first I have heard of the 2018 version! Would have thought Steam would have recommended it seeing as I loved the 2015 version.

Looks like the sale has been set back though. Found this online ''Unfortunately it didn't. Being the careless company they are, PlayWay waited until the last minute to submit languages to Steam and Steam didn't approve the Chinese and Japanese language packs. Now it's delayed until the 24th-28th. ''

Ah well at least I have something to look forward to on Monday!

Yes the delay has been a bit of a bummer but good things come to those who wait..or something.

I understand why they opten to wait, the Chinese games are knows to review bomb on steam and for a young company like PlayWay something like that can really hurt.

Anyone been playing this?

I picked up 2015 earlier in the week and quite a few enjoyable hours.

The reviews I've seen around aren't looking good for this. I'm sure the gameplay is fine but it seems to be a giant, optimised buggy mess.

I was quite looking forward to it but I'll give it a moment for them to iron out the bugs first.

I have bought it on Friday and have played around 5-6 hours.

I have to say it it a big big step foward from the CMS 2015.

It still has a lot of bugs, the car salon and race track are blocked and will be unlocked in around 14 days.

The game is 4 days old and today they will lauch Patch 1.0.6 so they are really working day and night on this.


I can recommend it if you were a fan of the 2015 version, it gets markedly better from day to day and should be on a fine level in around a week or two.

I would say it is definitely playable right now. But yes, there are bugs to be sorted.

Looking at getting this, but how detailed is it, in terms of real life mechanics?
Would you go as far to say it's a good interactive way of learning how parts fit together on a car?

Or is it more along the lines of a very general idea of how things work, without any intricate detail?

If it is anything like the older ones, then not very accurate at all. Have a look on youtube for playthroughs, or see if anyone on twitch tv has a livestream of it.
