Age of Empires returning
Discussion
I've just seen a couple of clips of the re-vamped Age of Empires. I remember playing this for ages with my daughter, only problem is I have a Playstation being a big Fallout and Skyrim fan and this is a Microsoft game. So is it worth buying a 4K capable gaming PC like I had at the time (not 4K at that time obviously) or to avoid crashes if they still happen buy an X box?

Crashes not something to worry about and personally wouldn't be too fussed about 4k either (unless you have money to burn for minor benefits).
But yeah buy a decent rig.
I already have a 4K tv for gaming, I was wondering what would be the better option a gaming PC or X BoxBut yeah buy a decent rig.

Wish they could do a version on the iPad.
Between that, Roller Coaster Tycoon and Carmageddeon I'd never get any work done ever again in a wave of childhood nostalgia.
Age of empires and other games like command and conquer could be excellent on an iPad. Between that, Roller Coaster Tycoon and Carmageddeon I'd never get any work done ever again in a wave of childhood nostalgia.
I thin’ there was c and c a while back but it was a dumbed down version as far as I can recall.

Red Alert really would be epic.
Except you know they ruin it with pay-to-play, earning coins and waiting for build times.

My kids use the xboxes because they’re much better for playing with their friends. I used to be a massive PC fan but even though high end ones are superior, if I could only have one, I’d keep the Xbox.

A high end PC, a Xbox or ps4 can't actually do real 4k gaming.I've decided to go with the new X Box 4k model just because I'll only buy it once.

I have a PS4 Pro which was bought to play Skyrim 4K I would say that the PS4 Pro has just about caught up with my high end PC gaming machine of 15 years ago when I played Oblivion. I traded non crashing for crap graphics and have been happy enough to live with my decision.

15 years ago? What would that get you, an Nvidia 6800 Ultra with a single core Athlon64 and 2gb RAM?
Can't remember but I bought it from a company called Overclockers in its day it was very good and the move to PS 3 was graphic wise a step down. Not sure what the "Bulls
t' comment is about.Oakey said:
The suggestion that a PS4 Pro has only just caught up with a PC from 15years ago.
To illustrate a point, in Oblivion when the player was in the building on the mountains there were a number of open fire cauldrons with my PC the flames and smoke were present and looked like a fire with smoke. My PS 3 that I'd just bought running in tandem with the same monitor there was a quite pathetic flame and no smoke I noted this at the time on a forum and the general consensus agreed plus there were many other examples. When I bought the PS4 Pro I did look out for similar cauldrons in Skyrim I know there are other factors to consider but I concluded that at long last I could enjoy the quality of graphics that I'd enjoyed with my PC all those years ago.
