Hello everyone,
I have treated myself to a G920 and Project Cars 2 and I have to say after the initial calibration and finetuning period it is simply immensly fun.
Now I have looked into Playseats and got the idea to build one myself, but would need some "drawings" of some kind.
Is anyone here who has done something like that and can offer some advice?

Wheelstand Pro is on the "wish" list ...... but it's hard to justify spending the £100 when my "bits of wood/gaffa tape & Velcro from the garage" system works perfectly well :-)
Similar price as the wheel stand if you go down that route is the GT Omega stand, you then have the option at a later date to buy a rear frame and seat to have a full on rig.I've got a GT Omega stand (wheel pedals & shifter) and a Sparco bucket seat, which is just sat on the carpet on some side mounts it came with! No issue with moving at all & handy as you can move them seperate rather than having a chair stuck on to the frame.
I managed to get the seat cheap from a friend so not always going to be a sensible option, but it works!

Have just started to build my own got lucky and managed to get a trak racer seat brand new for £40 and used some scrap metal from work its a bit heavy but it was free. I have just finished the cad drawings for all the plate metal so this can be machined then bent but its getting there. I have made a quick tempory rig out of wood that works well.

That is what I'm talking about.I have a metal workshop near me, I will show them this and look if they can replicate it.
You really cannot beat this to be fair. I had one for a long time and got some great use out of it...

It looks weird and uncomfortable but its super adjustable, super comfortable and also folds up really neat (with the wheel and pedals attached.)
I used to fold it up and stick it behind the sofa and could have it up and going in 2mins... These DIY options are all well and good and I love the creativity, but ultimately unless you do a real decent job they are often a bit pants and bulky. After 18months of ownership I realised I wasnt using the Playseat that much so I stuck it on eBay and got 85% of my money back, I'll just buy another when I want to play again.
Cant wait to see the finished product.

I was the same - I'm an engineer so no bother for me to think up some ways to knock something up. And i have done it a couple times before. But to actually do it takes a weeks worth of evenings. For £130 the playseat challenge was a no brainer so I just went for that. Comfy, rigid (enough), cheap, and folds up nicely.
