49 " Gaming monitor.
Discussion
Right, this is nuts.....

Does anyone have anything this big? I'd love to hear any views/ experiences. Is it too big? I think perhaps it is, for gaming anyway.
( but i really quite fancy one)

Someone correct me as I only did it quickly but at 49" in that aspect ratio it's possibly actually a little "small"?
Imagine a triple 22" monitor setup, that monitors actually a little smaller at least in total screen size it seems.
So it looks bonkers, but actually if you're used to a triple monitor setup and want to rid yourself of the bezels it could be great.

Hmm it is awesome but since my my OP I've been doing some reading up and youtubing of this monster.
It's aspect ratio is 32:9 but it's only 1080 vertically so looses out to some of the smaller high end gaming monitors.
These are also on my radar.
Alienware
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alienware-AW3418DW-Ultra-...
Acer Predator
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-34-Inch-Curved-Monit...
Both these look good but then I keep thinking.... 49 inches!!!

Thats what I was thinking, I have a triple 24inch set up. That would be class for bezel less gaming though. Imagine a triple 22" monitor setup, that monitors actually a little smaller at least in total screen size it seems.

Even though it's only 1080 you'll need a monster video card to use that. What do you have?
I'd love one of these as well, only 7680x4320 res!

One of these has been sitting on my desk since Saturday:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0777TRHPQ/ref...
I wanted a bigger monitor (had 3 x 27" Full HD) so I just replaced the centre one. I didn't think my GTX970 would drive a 4K monitor for games, hence going for a QHD one.
It's brilliant for work and it plays stuff like Wolfenstein in QHD more than fine.
And at £200 it's cracking.

Got a z35 Acer predator at home. There is no going back to 60 FPS / none-GSync after that. Also the 21:9 aspect ratio is fantastic, although some older games (and all Bethesda games) refuse to run at that aspect ratio. The curviness is mostly a gimmick but it may help with viewing angles toward the left/right edges.
I could gripe a little bit about the 1080 resolution but given the choice i would take 1080p@120hz over 2160p@60hz any day.

Can you detect any ghosting? I'd looked at that and reviews seemed a bit hit and miss.https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0777TRHPQ/ref...

I have the aoc monitor aswell. Read all the reviews etc about ghosting but as its a second monitor for watching youtube videos etc I wasnt too fussed.
There is some ghosting when you intentially look for it in tests etc but never notice anything in games, youtube, films etc. It seems only the hardcore monitor perfect people can pick up on it. Like the audiophile people and their expensive cables etc. for us normie's you can never know.
I havent even done the colour profile or the OSD options which can reduce it slightly.
Runs at 75hz no issues, no dead pixels etc. great buy for £200

I've not noticed any ghosting either. I've not used it much for fast paced games yet but so far it seems fine.
I had to change from a DP connection to HDMI to get 75Hz. And now I have problem that my other two monitors now look tiny and blockey but I don't think i can fit another 2 32" inch ones on my desk.

Regardless, I'm not going to go for that Samsung.
Going to wait and see when this ROG Swift is released. I want to improve my gaming experience having only ever known 1080 res at 60hz I'm interested to see just how much better things are. Plenty here seem to suggest it's worth the extra.
This new one has not been released yet, quite delayed in fact and it certainly looks like it will be well north of a grand. If it's under 1500, I might go for it.

Good price for the spec - if you look at the "compare it to" section my monitor is the White Acer IPS next to it https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0777TRHPQ/ref...

I want one but I can't be bothered with the problems you'll likely end up in trying to buy it.
