It seems quite a basic game for 50 quid, when Fortnite is free
Also totally reliant on being matched with other people that give a toss about the tasks, especially with no tutorials or guides.
I think bearing in mind it is free on Game Pass you will have a lot of trolls and griefers causing havoc, a bit like racing online.
Imagine someone who keeps dropping the anchor mid journey and how annoying that would be to keep winding it up?

Played first game today, you do need some cooperative people, preferably mates.
Did first of the easy gold missions. Luckily I had teammates who can read a map lol
If you are unlucky you get a foreign kid who just wants to jump on the wheel and go zooming off in the wrong direction.
Played on my own too solo but every time i came back to my ship it was sinking.
Playing it on a two months free Game Pass trial.

Also, you have to sit down and devote a good couple of hours at a time to it, as everything happens soo slow.
After you have eventually found a trustworthy give a toss crew.
Plus earning money is soo slow too. The only way to earn it quickly is to do Skeleton Fort raids and they take ages even with a crew that work together. After one raid I got 10,000 gold, have you seen how expensive all the character clothes are?
It only appeals really to such a niche minority of gamers. Clever idea but content thin on the ground and 100% skilled teamwork based. No other game ever made like it.
Definitely not worth retail price, I suspect it will come down quickly in a couple of months.
Absolutely try it on game pass before you stump up the money for it.

I spent a few days this weekend playing it. It's a good social game that doesn't require a huge amount of effort or concentration, the perfect game for 4 of us who no longer live close to each other.
There isn't a huge amount to do in the game, I can't see myself getting sucked in if it's just me playing.

Have also spent a few days playing this. I enjoy the fact I can play it on my surface pro as well as my gaming setup (Though the trackpad does make it a little more difficult).
If more content is added and mysteries added it could be a brilliant game. Solo play is possible, but a lot to keep track of, would be even better if you have a group on a galleon or another friend on the sloop!

Yup, still playing here. Really enjoying it still though it does have its moments of utter despair. Usually play solo or duo sloops and have been reasonably successful so far. Done quite a few skull/fort events now, though you still get the mental busy ones where its a case of see who is gonna stop coming back first lol.
Galleon'd up last night for the first time with a few friends and had a blast. I'm looking forward to the new Hungering Deep add on though I'm not putting to much hype on it in my mind. Rare have already said this is a medium size add on with 2 major add ons still to come.
Had been playing it on my Xbox One X since release but downloaded it onto my reasonably powerful PC at the weekend and don't think I'll go back to playing it on the Xbox. Its easy to see why the PC player have an advantage in PVP situations. Cross play though does mean I can still play with my mates on their Xboxs.
