TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge Game
Discussion
The handling is very different to Ride 2, it requires a touch more respect. Plenty of positives such as looks, sounds, leaderboards and of course, THE TRACK (the other 9 tracks are also pretty cool) Career mode is quite immersive and many of the challenges are sectors of The Mountain Course so a great way to learn the track. Only ridden the Super Sports so far so unable to comment on the Super Bikes but handling is such a personal preference. It feels a little more 'floaty' than Ride 2, although I enjoy Ride 2 you can race on it after 9 pints and still have fun. Try racing on TT after a sniff of booze and you will be picking yourself off the ground all too regular. Speed is your friend in this game, if you give a corner too much respect and go too slow you can almost feel the weight of the bike and lose it. Unlike Ride 2 you need to keep it smooth rather than hard acceleration and sharp breaking. Biggest downside for me is the AI that are just pure mental so ease your way past them and keep ahead. The slightest glance of a kerb at very low speed and it turns you 90 degrees ands spits you into the hedge/wall/house across the road (that requires addressing or simply keep it lit)
8 out of 10 for me but never owned a game that gets a 10. Great first bike game from these guys and with a few minor tweaks in a patch I think it could be a solid 9. Easy enough to ride at first but judge it on its own merits, it is different to Ride 2. It will be a b
h to master!!!!

Finding the physics very hard, lifting off the throttle can randomly throw the bike to the side and you’re off.
Sounds aren’t that great either, S1000rr sounds very weird.
Fair to say I’ve killed McPint a few times over today already!
Will give it more time to get used to it.

Played for approx 2 hour last night, majority of which saw me obsessing over the opening welsh circuit TT.
Got myself to 119th fastest on the board with more to give, if I treat every track like this I can see this being high value for money.
The physics are real enough, doesn't feel completely natural as im used to moving my head when riding IRL, not just pivoting on the same point. But I like it.
Sounds need a lot of work I think, and the gear changes sound far to aggressive, but that's niggles.

I'm liking it. It's certainly hard and I did have a minor rage quit last night trying to get a superbike consistently round the Milford Haven course for three laps. Think i was just overriding it. The difficulty and the weight transfers etc are really nice and getting a corner right is hugely satisfying and hilarious how much faster you can go round if it all comes together.
Finding the handling quite frustrating. Can't seem to go anywhere near the back brake on an approach to a slow corner or the bike slides right out. Equally, lift off at all near any corner and you'll lose the back end too. Finally, random bumps that you have no control over seem to throw you off all the time.
Is there anyway to keep the back end more stable?
Still over the moon to finally be riding the TT course, mind...

Sadly because it is made by a company who want to own a niche in the market and pump out crap, which is really what Big Ben do sadly, it's a waste of what looks to be a really nice track model. The only challenge is learning the track, rather than mastering the bike round the track.
The only challenging bike game is GP Bikes, made by someone who wanted to make it as real as possible and supported by a die hard community, its not pretty, but it is ridiculously hard to get a bike round a lap. Also has VR which makes the whole experience much tougher.
This person makes it look far to easy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxW2w1oC_Dc

Why is it that games which should be utterly amazing turn out to be cr@p?
I was going to buy this on release day, but reading the negative reviews on Amazon I'm holding off. Such a shame as I was looking forward to riding the TT circuit.
Is it crap then? I was going to buy this on release day, but reading the negative reviews on Amazon I'm holding off. Such a shame as I was looking forward to riding the TT circuit.

First bike game I have ever played and I’m not interested in hard core sim racing - just something enjoyable to play when I have some pre ious down time
And as a generic motorsport fan rather than keen gamer I’d say it hits the spot
