The original, big, Xbox controller is being remade and updated by Hyperkin for Xbox One and Windows 10. It's still wired (9ft), and the centre dome is now an OLED screen that plays the original Xbox boot up animation. $69 at the end of March, not sure if it's here at the same time, $69 will probably translate to £69 if it is released here.

Good news for the nostalgic I suppose, but a shame it's not being manufactured by Microsoft themselves. I always find third party control to be sub-par compared to the official stuff.

The original Xbox controller was a good thing when it came out, the Playstation pad was good in it's day but was too small, almost as if it was designed for a child's hands, or a small Japanese hand. Sony have addressed this by scaling the PS pads up over the years but Microsoft were much closer to delivering what the western market was after. Ultimately though, the Duke was was too big and clunky and would be scaled down in the middle of the lifespan of the Xbox, the revised pad being the blueprint for the design we're still using today on the Xbox One X.

Never you mind
