I fancy remember the exact point but I switched my PS4 off a year or two ago after frustration with everything going online, lootcrates, microtransactions yadda yadda.

I fired it up last night to watch a blu-ray and realised I had £50 credit in my wallet.

Are there any offline games I can dip into for 10-20 minutes, more often than not when I'm a bit tired so don't want to be really dialled in?

I have a very chilled drifting game which is spot on for my needs (Absolute Drift) so something along those lines. Ideally I'd want an equivalent of Forza Horizon which I can just cruise around in, but as far as I can tell nothing remotely close to that exists.

I have GTA5 on my xbox. I have never done any of the missions tho.

I just drive around looking at the scenery or take a boat, go for a swim.

My fave is to go to the airport and nick a plane and then fly around then head for the desert strip and land therebiggrin

I found final fantasy xv very relaxing. The game is simple, you can have your friend drive the car for you as you go place to place, go fishing, camp and have meals cooked. I felt like it's a road trip with some new friends. The story is decent too and the combat is simple. I found it very relaxing and easy to play on and off.

The crew 2 is coming out this year and you'll be able to cruise around in that offline and that's got the whole USA. Although the handling is awful for a driving game but if you're just being chill then it should be no problem.

What about the PS2 GTA's? (3, Vice City, SA), they can be had as a pack and none of them are particularly hard plus you won't ever have anything that involves lootboxes, micro transactions etc.

Yesterday I was digging around some boxes that I still have not unpacked from 2 or 3 moves ago.

I found my old Wii with all it's leads, one controller and a Wii Sports disc still in the machine.

Set it up and despite the graphics looking bad on a big HD plasma, I had a blast playing tennis for an hour or so. My arm still hurts biggrin

The controller had old batteries in it and despite clearing up the mess, sticking new ones in and working for that session, towards the end it would keep losing sync and the motion control bit really lagged or just stopped.

New controller ordered on the Bay for £8.

Hoping to use this to wean the kids off Fortnite on their PS4s.

SUPERHOT - perfect for quick 10-20 min blasts...and not too taxing.

I'm the same! Spent more time taking a dirty bike up in to the hills than I did doing the actual missions! Brilliant and beautiful open world environment.

Both mega chill and you can put as much or as little time into it as you like. Funnily that always seems to turn into just another 10 mins..

Trials is also good for few minute bursts and is cheap with a high skill ceiling.

I recently got a one of the Rory McIlroy PGA tour games (on Xbox, but must be similar on PS4) to do just this! Great to dip in for 30 mins and be on your way. Bearing in mind I don't play or really like golf in real life, just quite fun to play...

If you're after something a little different, there's mini golf available.

Have to buy online though, it's not expensive.

Thanks all. Inspired by the golf suggestions I actually went with Everybody's Golf, which it turns out is spot on for my needs and great fun.

And after going down the arcade sports rabbit hole, I also picked up Super Mega Baseball, which is utterly superb.

I would actually suggest any of the LEGO games.

Especially the ones linked to movies

They are great fun, not too taxing but challenging enough to make you think.

They are also quite humrous!!

I love & loathe equally the trials games, it’s the most-unputdownable ‘just one more go’ game in existence for me!

Back when I was going for it on Trials HD (still got the ultimate endurance platinum to do...), it wasn’t uncommon to look at the clock at 8pm, then glance at it again 5 minutes later to find it’s gone 3am, and on a school night too laugh

Depending on your personality, Trials may well NOT be a casual game. Nowadays, I only ever fire it up if I know I’ve the whole evening.

It’s also the only game that has ever made me rage-quit (Inferno3, fell off at the last ramp on an otherwise zero-faults run, never got close again since), and the only game I’ve fell out of a chair playing (I have a habit of moving my arms laterally to the right, as if I were physically pushing the bike up the slope, extended play can actually leave me twisted & aching) where I ‘pushed’ too far and basically slid off the chair!

Goat Simulator.

I can't believe it exists. I have the demo on my Xbox.
