State of Decay 2

Anyone playing this?
Its on Xbox play anywhere, so if you buy it in the Microsoft store you get it for both PC and Xbox with one purchase and can cross play.
Seems to be the Division meets The Walking Dead.
Looks quite pretty in 4k HDR, however fairly easy so far.
I've only played solo, but I think it'll completely change the game if you squad up like it suggests.

Yes, I am. Played the first one a lot and am enjoying this one. I find it amusingly calm and relaxing mostly. It is easier than the first one thus far but at times the first one did seem to ramp up the difficulty a bit quickly.
I've mainly just been exploring and gathering materials but I've picked up 3 extra recruits to my gang so far.

Just bumping this - Ive been a bit busy recently - but picked up my copy on release.
Its a good solid game - and the Co-Op adds a dimension. It retains the good parts of the original while smartening (sp) up the appearance and its fun to play. I was a bit worried that it would become stale once you have a secure base - but theres an ongoing story to enjoy so progressing through that maintains interest also.
The plague hearts are a pain to get rid of but add a challenge. The vehicles using fuel is new from the original but adds realism.
Ive moved to the 'Lock n store' base from the start point and am happy with my choice. Certainly worth the £22 quid (I think) I paid with the expansion it offers.
Not really dabbled in the online aspect other than Co-Op with my brother so can't comment on that. The game has its glitches for sure but - hoping the MONSTER 20gb patch will have fixed most!

It's on the Xbox Games Pass, so you can try it for free just to see if you like it and lose nothing but the time you spent downloading it if it isn't for you.
I like it. I had the first one and didn't think much of it, but a lot of gameplay areas have been tightened up considerably this time around to make it more fun.
The artificial difficulty is quite annoying at times. You can feel when the game thinks things are going too well for you so it dumps a couple of infestations on your doorstep, or even more irritatingly, completes a scripted event to run down some of your supplies. Even the zombies seem to become more alert and aggressive when you're on a winning streak!
It's good fun but I don't know how long I'll stick with it. The pacing is now controlled more by world events than the player (a contrast to the first game). If you're not constantly running back and forth to moaning survivors wanting bags of food or infestations cleared, you're fighting off hordes and plague hearts. It's a shame that the pacing is dictated and driven in this way as hostile survivors are a nuisance and growing infestations cause problems. I'd have liked a little more time to explore and hunt rather than being a carrier donkey all the time, but that tactic is working well for me so far.
I'm playing in the valley town map, which is really excellent. I might complete a story there and take some survivors to one of the other maps later.

Picked this up on Sunday (PC but it is supposedly cross format) and enjoying it apart from the miserable survivors. I'd prefer to build up one or two characters but have to keep swapping them around as they get tired (and the guns breaking down mechanism is annoying - I haven't worked out how to repair them yet) . I'm "fadingfool" on the Xbox app if anyone is interested in trying the multiplayer?
Guns need repair benches to fix, that's an upgrade you can make in your base.
It's irritating that survivors wear out and the blood plague system makes it a pain if a high level character gets infected. I lost one of my starter characters on a plague heart run and we're still feeling the loss. She had the stealth sprint skill so was really, really useful for looting runs away from a parked vehicle. However, so long as you can secure new survivors, you can keep building them up.
