PS4 Headset alternatives - HT with Mic

Morning folks, I am hoping for a bit of technical guidance.
My buddy has just bought a PS4 and we are hoping to try a bit on online co-op. He has a headset which he uses for his PC gaming so he is sorted. However, i do not. I have only ever played single player campaigns and my sound is sent through a 5.1 Home theatre set up. Is there anyway of adding a mic to this set up and utilise my speakers instead of buying a head set? My amp is a Yamaha and does come with a little mic for setting the sound levels for the room.
I like the atmosphere that the surround sound adds to the games like hearing voices/gunshots/footsteps from behind/right/left etc.It also allows me to talk to my wife who is generally sat in the room reading or interneting.
Google is proving fruitless.
