I loved their Walking Dead series, but it seems like we'll never get the proper ending now. Rather glad I didn't buy the season pass

I enjoyed The Wolf among Us, and Tales of Borderlands much more than any of their other titles, and have played them all.

My biggest issue with all of their games was the illusion of choice. The games heavily market themselves as a 'choose-you-own-adventure' and that 'you actions have consiquences' but all choices follow a predetermined path regardless of your choice.

For example, a character may not help later on depending on a decision you've made, but another character advances the plot by doing it anyway. They made great interactive stories, but that's all they were and it's a very competitive market.

More importantly they absolutely screwed over their workforce.
Termination with no severance pay.

I rather thought that's what happens when a company goes bust.

Telltale were particularly egregious though, had people working 18 to 20 hours straight knowing that the company was going under anyway. Basically every bad stereotype about working in games development was in full effect there.

Hope the staff get recompense for all of their work.

If you are familiar of Jim Sterling, he covered this story quite well.

I bet the higher-ups knew full well when they released TWD for sale, knowing people would only get half of what they paid for

I would guess the franchise cost them a bundle from the studio, and to outweigh that they needed to sell a lot, tough sell.
