PS4 can I reinstall a game without having to D/L the patches

I Have the worlds slowest broadband .. is it possible to keep a patch that I have downloaded or does it immediately get applied to the game as a one time only event?

Most games these days are completely uninstalled and copied and installed again every time there is an update for some stupid reason, means it takes ages, even with decent broadband.

You cant split off patches though no.

It's a bloody ridiculous system.

Downloading a 20gb patch takes a couple of days for me and some games will not even allow me to play the single player campaigns without updating them!

I have just installed one game and I am getting crashes and errors so I am waiting for the patch to download to see if that fixes it and if it doesn't I will have to reinstall it and download the patch again..or Maybe I can reinstall it while the patch is downloading I suppose!

It's annoying because the patch is definitely being stored separately until it is applied so it would be very easy to have the facility to keep the download on the HD!

Not everybody can download huge files on a whim..

Console games don't crash like pc games as much.
You sure the problem isnt with your PS4? HD issues?

The game is Just Cause 3 (Just purchased from computer exchange as I am behind the times) It seems to have sorted itself out once the patch was installed. It was crashing during the loading 'cut' scene, so I actually skipped it and the game ran fine . Not sure if the Patch did anything or not really!
