Sorry I posted this in computers and gadgets but it should have been here I think.

I'm after an obscure old game and video for my son.

He is autistic and gets very set in the exact thing he wants. I've had to buy old Darius CDs and all sorts from online stores to keep him happy at birthdays e.t.c. This year for Xmas, one of the things he wants is a game called "Smashing Drive" for the Nintendo GameCube. Like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Namco-Smashing-Drive-Game...

Not available...

Has anyone got a copy for UK use at a reasonable cost?

( One of the strange things about his condition is that despite him having the Darius CD "Girl in the Moon" he still wants the cassette!!! Come to think of it I could record it on an old tape... but the thing is he knows it is not the original and won't do. Some old stuff we have bought him has been rejected due to a torn page on the sleeve notes e.t.c. luckily they are usually only a quid or so but he also wanted a Fireman Sam video (VHS only) which was over £50 on the bay of e! so if anyone has an old copy of "Fireman Sam - Disaster for Dinner" that would be appreciated too).

That particular game was never released in Europe, so he must have had a North American copy? The Wii and Gamecube are region locked, so you'd need a NTSC console to play it as well.

My sister has suggested https://littlebluecup.org/ might be worth posting on the Facebook group?

Thanks BD.

I had not heard of that site. Seems to hit the nail on the head with "some things worthless to most but priceless to the person who wants it."

Cheers.

This is a bit naughty but the ROM is readily available online. If you've got a decent PC which can run Dolphin, you could pair that up with Dolphin and a USB 'Gamecube style' controller and it might do the job.
Not sure if that would meet his requirements give the thing about torn pages though...

Super.

Just e-mailed the Missus the detail as it may well be her who has placed a bid.

(Laurel and Hardy moment as we both bid on it without checking...)

Edit to add - It is Mrs Scotty2 who has a bid on!

My son used to be into Fireman Sam - I'm pretty sure we've got some DVD's knocking around if your son would like them?

Don't want anything for them - they're just sat in a cupboard!
