Ghost recon breakpoint - anyone getting it?
Discussion
Wildlands was one of my surprise finds of 2017; I didn't get it until a few months after it came out but I thoroughly enjoyed it (solo only), in fact I just replayed it from the start a month or two back, this time going into Tier mode to get some extra collectables and weapons.
Not sure if i'm sold on Breakpoint; will probably wait and see what it's like on release. What I loved about Wildlands was being able to pile into a dirty old Suburban and drive across a very diverse landscape and pick up missions at will. From what I've heard they're making BP more linear.

Just to resurrect this, I’ve played the beta this weekend after watching a couple of youtubers on it and really really enjoyed it, feels similar to Farcry with wide open spaces and the like, but really enjoyed the story and gameplay. Will weigh up if I can consider having time to play this. Worth a look if you like a good shooter, without some of the complexity of more recent COD’s
I have a slightly different view I guess.
I think it is terrible, putting aside the holes in the graphics where poor quality textures and the hilarious but disappointing body ragdolling on dead bodies...(ok its a Beta, but its also out in a few days, the Beta isn't meant to fix these things, its meant to be for testing infrastructure loading of the servers and glitches etc).
I don't like that the enemy are complete bullet sponges, nobody should take half a clip to put down, and if they were wearing bodyarmour you'd hope it would at least put their aim off target.
I don't like the user interface where you have to click through endless, poorly thought out menus to progress and I don't like the story generally.
I DO like the new camo technique and how you navigate the map with more flexibility but thats about it.
Breakpoint for me isn't a patch on Wildlands, I'd rather they'd have gone for an unexplored angle such as the USA Spec Ops hunting down various bad guys in Africa (warlords and pirates) or perhaps operating in Iran or North Korea to sabotage missile/nuclear programs.
I won't be getting it and I'm glad they released the beta to give me a chance to try it first.

Tried the beta, it was fun for a little bit. The ai is terrible. The bad guys either run directly at you or sit themselves in cover with their heads conveniently poking out so you can casually snipe them one at a time. It felt more like Just Cause, without the over the top carnage. It's a no from me.
